Who I support

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don’t need to have a clear label for what you’re experiencing — often it’s simply a sense that something isn’t quite right.

At Brookfield Therapy Space, I work with adults and young people who are seeking a supportive space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace.

This also includes supporting people living with chronic pain or long-term health conditions, and the emotional impact of injury, illness, or slow recovery, alongside medical or physiotherapy care.

Alongside supporting people with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, my work has included supporting clients in professional roles who are navigating work-related stress, burnout, career questions, and shifts in professional identity. Therapy can offer a confidential space to reflect on the impact of work, reconnect with what matters to you, and consider what feels sustainable — whether that involves staying where you are, making changes, or simply understanding yourself better in the process.

Below are some of the areas I commonly support.

Anxiety, Stress & Overwhelm

Therapy for anxiety in Leeds & online

You might feel constantly on edge, overthinking, tense, or unable to relax. Anxiety and stress can affect sleep, relationships, work, and self-confidence, often leaving you feeling exhausted or out of control. In therapy, we can gently explore what’s contributing to these feelings, help you understand your patterns, and develop ways to feel more grounded and supported.

Low Mood & Depression

Counselling for low mood and depression

Low mood can show up as feeling numb, disconnected, tearful, unmotivated, or stuck in negative thought patterns. You may struggle to find enjoyment in things you once valued or feel weighed down by everyday life.Therapy offers a compassionate space to talk openly about how you’re feeling, without pressure to “fix” anything. Together, we can explore what’s beneath these feelings and support you in finding hope and clarity.

Burnout & Work-Related Stress

Support for burnout and emotional exhaustion

Burnout often develops gradually — feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or disconnected from work or daily life. You might feel pressure to keep going while quietly struggling.Therapy can help you slow down, reflect on your needs, and explore healthier ways of relating to work, expectations, and yourself.

Life Transitions & Change

Therapy during times of change

Life changes — whether chosen or unexpected — can stir up uncertainty, loss, or confusion. This might include changes in relationships, work, identity, health, or direction in life.Therapy provides a steady space to process change, make sense of what’s happening, and reconnect with what matters to you.

Chronic Pain & Long-Term Health Conditions

Therapy for living with ongoing pain or physical conditions

Living with chronic pain, injury, or a long-term health condition can affect far more than your body. You might be coping with frustration, grief, anxiety, low mood, disrupted sleep, or a sense that your identity or independence has shifted — especially when recovery is slow or unpredictable.

Therapy offers a space to explore the emotional impact of living with pain alongside medical or physiotherapy care. Together, we can gently make sense of what this experience has brought up for you, support you in developing ways to cope day-to-day, and help you feel less alone in what can often be an isolating journey.

Relationships & Interpersonal Difficulties

Counselling for relationship challenges

Relationship difficulties can involve conflict, communication issues, boundaries, or recurring patterns that feel hard to break. You may notice similar challenges showing up across different relationships. In therapy, we can explore how you relate to others and to yourself, helping you develop greater awareness, self-compassion, and healthier ways of connecting.

Neurodivergent Experiences

Therapy for neurodivergent adults and young people

If you are neurodivergent — or questioning whether you might be — you may feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or pressured to fit into systems that don’t work for you.I offer a respectful, affirming space to explore neurodivergent experiences, identity, masking, burnout, and self-acceptance, working in ways that suit your individual needs.

Feeling Stuck, Lost, or Unsure

Therapy for self-exploration

Sometimes there isn’t a clear reason for seeking therapy — just a sense of feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure about yourself or your direction.Therapy can be a place for reflection, curiosity, and deeper self-understanding, helping you reconnect with yourself in a meaningful way.

Creative Therapy

Creative therapy in Leeds & online

Creative therapy may be helpful if you find it hard to express yourself through words alone, or if talking feels limiting. This approach offers gentle, reflective ways of working — such as imagery, writing, drawing, or metaphor — to explore thoughts and emotions in a non-judgemental way. No creative experience is needed.

A Gentle Reminder

You don’t need to see yourself exactly in one of these sections to begin therapy. Many people experience a mix of feelings, or find that their needs change over time.We can explore what feels important for you together.
